Worms Overview
The game presents a strategic conflict where teams of worms engage in combat across destructible landscapes. Each participant begins with a set health value and is eliminated upon reaching zero, with their demise triggering an explosive effect on nearby units.
Combat proceeds through a series of timed turns, where control rotates between individual worms. Movement is limited to crawling and jumping, but carries risk as falls from height cause injury and ending the turn, while plummeting into water or off the map results in immediate death. A turn typically concludes after the execution of a single aimed attack from a selected arsenal.
The arsenal includes conventional projectile weapons like bazookas and grenades, which are influenced by environmental factors such as wind and gravity. More unusual options like the Fire Punch, dynamite, and airstrikes are available, alongside utility items for traversal and construction. The terrain itself is a key factor, with numerous thematic styles that alter gameplay, such as reduced gravity on lunar landscapes. Weapon fire permanently alters the battlefield by carving craters and tunnels into the earth.
