Body Blows Overview
Body Blows is a one-on-one fighting game developed by Team 17 for the Amiga, created in response to the capabilities of that platform. Its visual presentation is characterized by colorful, animated backdrops that include locations such as beaches, construction sites, and wrestling rings.
Player characters include a Buddhist monk named Lo-Ray, a failed boxer called Junior, and two brothers, Dan and Nik, who share identical fighting styles. Opponents feature a diverse cast, such as a ninja, a businessman known for a particular post-match phrase, and a slender Spanish girl.
The control scheme is built around single-button joysticks. Special moves are executed by combining directional inputs with the fire button, while a more powerful super special move requires holding the fire button. Effective play depends on skillfully chaining these techniques together, making the gameplay challenging.
