Mortal Kombat Overview
Mortal Kombat is a side-scrolling fighting game where two combatants face each other in one-on-one matches. The gameplay involves a range of basic attacks like punches and kicks, supplemented by unique special moves for each fighter. A distinctive and bloody feature allows the victor to execute a finishing maneuver, known as a Fatality, upon an opponent's final defeat.
The narrative backdrop involves a long-corrupted martial arts tournament. An evil sorcerer, Shang Tsung, and his four-armed champion Goro have ensured Outworld's dominance for centuries, threatening Earth Realm with conquest. As a decisive tournament approaches, the thunder god Raiden intervenes, assembling a group of seven fighters to challenge this reign.
This roster includes individuals like a Shaolin monk, a special forces officer, a mercenary, a Hollywood actor, and two rival warriors with elemental and supernatural abilities. The game originated as an arcade title for two players and was notable for its visual presentation, which utilized digitized actors and prominently featured blood during combat.
