Mortal Kombat Overview
Mortal Kombat is a side-scrolling fighting game where two combatants face each other in one-on-one matches. The gameplay involves a range of attacks, including punches, kicks, and character-specific special moves. A notable feature is the Fatality, a unique and graphically violent finishing move a player can execute after winning the final round.
The narrative setting involves a long-corrupted martial arts tournament. An evil sorcerer, Shang Tsung, and his four-armed champion, Goro, have dominated the competition for five centuries, threatening the Earth Realm with conquest. As a decisive tournament approaches, the thunder god Raiden intervenes, assembling a group of seven fighters to challenge this reign.
This roster includes individuals like Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Johnny Cage, Kano, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion. The game originated as a two-player arcade title and was distinguished by its use of digitized actor sprites and prominent displays of blood during combat.
