ActRaiser 2 Overview
ActRaiser 2 is a side-scrolling action game where the player, as a divine entity known as The Master, engages in combat across fourteen distinct levels. The objective is to cleanse the world of evil forces, confronting new monsters and utilizing a set of fresh abilities and super powers.
Progression is managed from a central Cloud Palace, which provides an overview of the world map for selecting subsequent stages. While the core experience is action-oriented, the design retains certain hidden elements reminiscent of role-playing games. The audio presentation reuses several sound effects from its predecessor but features an entirely new musical score.
Notable alterations from the first ActRaiser include the complete removal of the simulation-based village-building segments. The method for preserving progress has also shifted from a battery backup to a password system.
