ActRaiser Overview
ActRaiser combines two distinct gameplay modes within a single fantasy setting. Players assume the role of a divine entity tasked with restoring the world by confronting a malevolent force.
One phase involves direct action, where the player's spirit inhabits a warrior to explore diverse environments. These range from forests and swamps to pyramids and mountain peaks, with the objective of cleansing each area. Success in these endeavors enables human populations to return and establish settlements.
The other primary mode shifts to a guidance role, where an angel under the player's control assists the developing towns. This includes providing divine intervention to meet the villagers' needs and influence their growth. The core loop alternates between these combat-oriented purges and subsequent simulation of societal development.
