Kid Klown in Crazy Chase is a game where the player controls a clown navigating through levels filled with hazards set by Blackjack. Success requires both speed and thorough exploration, as each stage presents two primary objectives.
Progress is tied to a race against a lit bomb fuse that begins alongside the player at the level's start. Reaching the exit before this fuse does is necessary to prevent an explosion. Furthermore, locating all four hidden card symbols within the stage is mandatory to complete it. Failing to meet either condition sends the player back to the beginning for another attempt, making the overall experience challenging.
The game also incorporates several mini-games, including air hockey and whack-a-mole, as diversions from the main chase. A later Game Boy Advance release features eleven levels instead of the original eight, though with a reduction in graphical detail.
