Soldiers of Fortune Overview
Soldiers of Fortune is an overhead perspective shooter where players navigate a series of open-air environments. The setting is a version of Britain transformed into a mechanical battleground, a consequence of an artificial intelligence called the Chaos Engine rebelling against its creator.
Players select from a roster of six distinct mercenaries, each with unique attributes and costs. The game supports a cooperative two-player mode, while a single player is accompanied by a computer-controlled partner capable of independent actions like collecting items and engaging enemies.
Progression involves completing sixteen levels, which are grouped into four distinct sets. The visual presentation is characterized by a metallic and blue aesthetic. The core gameplay involves moving and shooting through maps that feature terrain elements like rivers and bridges.
