Worms Overview
Worms is a turn-based strategy game where up to four teams, each with four worms, compete on destructible terrain. The objective is to eliminate opposing teams by reducing their health to zero, which causes an explosive death that can damage nearby units.
Terrain is procedurally generated across ten distinct styles, including environments like forests, deserts, and even a low-gravity moon. Shots from weapons alter the landscape by creating craters and tunnels, which can change tactical options during a match.
Control is given to one worm per turn, with actions like moving, jumping, and a single attack allowed before the turn ends. The gameplay is challenging due to factors like a time limit for each turn and environmental hazards. Falling from a height causes health loss and ends the turn, while falling into water or off the screen results in immediate death.
A variety of weapons are available, from standard options like wind-affected bazookas and grenades to special attacks such as the Fire Punch, dynamite, and airstrikes. Utility items like ropes and girders provide additional strategic depth for navigation and defense.
