Streets of Rage 2 Overview
Streets of Rage 2 is a follow up to a story where a criminal syndicate was previously dismantled. The plot resumes a year later when the city's peace is shattered by the return of the presumed defeated leader, Mr. X. This prompts a new group, including original heroes and new allies, to embark on a mission to confront him again.
The game introduces visual and mechanical refinements over its predecessor. Character sprites are larger and exhibit more detailed animation, while environments appear less grainy. A significant gameplay change replaces a prior attack with a special move designed for both offensive and defensive utility.
Additional features include life bars and names for enemy characters, providing clearer combat feedback. The roster is expanded with new playable fighters, offering different styles from the returning characters.
