Comix Zone Overview
Comix Zone presents a side scrolling fighting experience set within the panels of a comic book. The protagonist, an artist named Sketch Turner, is pulled into his own creation by a villain he drew named Mortus.
Gameplay involves navigating the linear pages of the graphic novel, where Sketch can jump, attack, and utilize found items. The combat system incorporates special techniques through button combinations, and the environment itself can be interacted with, such as breaking panel borders or tearing the paper to execute powerful moves.
While progression follows the comic's pages, players can find alternate routes and hidden paths. Performance is graded with a rating at each level's conclusion. Sketch is occasionally aided by his pet rat, Roadkill, and may receive help from another of his creations, General Alissa Cyan, as he fights toward a final confrontation with Mortus.
