Super Turrican 2 Overview
Super Turrican 2 is a side-scrolling action game where the player controls a character from the USS Freedom Forces, tasked with stopping the Machine from attacking civilizations. The core gameplay involves navigating expansive levels, defeating numerous enemies by jumping and shooting.
While the series is known for large, explorable secret areas, this installment diverges by making nearly half of its levels strictly linear. The arsenal includes returning weapons like the Laser, Spread-shot, and an improved Rebound, alongside new additions such as a Flamethrower. A Rope tool allows for climbing and retrieving distant items.
Additional combat options include a temporary invincible wheel-mode for laying mines and firing rockets, as well as collectible homing missiles that function as secondary weapons. The game presents a challenging experience through these interconnected systems of movement and firepower.
