Gunstar Heroes Overview
Gunstar Heroes is a side scrolling shooter where players control one of two twin characters, Red or Blue. Their mission involves confronting a dictator named Smash Daisaku, who seeks to reactivate a powerful android called Golden Silver by obtaining four Mystical Gems. These gems were originally secured on a moon by the four Gunstar siblings after the android's initial defeat.
The gameplay is fast paced, featuring a combat system that includes melee strikes, sliding, and the ability to grab and throw opponents. Players select from four primary weapon types, which can be combined into numerous variations for different tactical effects. The narrative setup reveals that one of the siblings, Gunstar Green, has been compromised and now aids the antagonist, adding a complication to the twins' objective.
