Tank Wars Overview
Tank Wars is a multiplayer shareware title that operates on principles similar to earlier artillery games. Participants control tanks positioned on a procedurally generated terrain, with the option for human or computer opponents. Up to ten players can join, and the artificial intelligence offers seven distinct behavioral profiles.
Combat involves adjusting shot angle and power while accounting for wind conditions, with a variety of projectiles available. A post-round economy allows players who eliminated others to spend earned points on new armaments. The arsenal includes eighteen weapons, two guidance systems, and three defensive options.
Extensive configuration settings allow modification of terrain destruction, projectile visibility, and off-screen behavior, among other mechanics. Team-based play is supported. Input can be handled through keyboard or mouse, and match length is adjustable. Sound is present but can be disabled.
