Fatal Fury Special Overview
Fatal Fury Special is a fighting game where players compete in a tournament, aiming to defeat all opponents including the final adversary, Wolfgang Krauser. The roster is extensive, incorporating the eight standard combatants and four boss characters from its predecessor, Fatal Fury 2, all available for selection from the start. It also reintroduces three figures from the original Fatal Fury title.
Technical and presentational upgrades distinguish this version from Fatal Fury 2. These consist of enhanced background visuals, additional color options for each fighter, and support for Dolby Surround Sound. The core combat system retains the series' characteristic two-plane movement, allowing fighters to shift between foreground and background lines during battles.
Beyond the standard tournament mode, a separate Count Down mode challenges players to overcome as many foes as possible within a three-minute limit. This provides an alternative test of skill focused on speed and efficiency.
