Crystalis Overview
Crystalis is a top-down action role-playing game set a century after a global war ended civilization. The player controls a hero who awakens from cryogenic sleep to investigate a mysterious tower built by survivors to monitor the world.
Gameplay involves exploring the world, battling monsters for experience points and gold, and improving the character's statistics by gaining levels. The hero can equip various gear, including weapons, armor, and accessories, and use a single inventory item while exploring. Progress is gated by character level, as specific bosses require a minimum level to be damaged.
Four elemental swords are key tools, each capable of a charged ranged attack. These attacks can be enhanced twice with special items. The hero also learns offensive and healing magic from four wise mentors, which consumes MP.
