The Guardian Legend Overview
The Guardian Legend is set in a future where Earth's peace is threatened by a massive space station on a collision course. To counter this, a special flight armor suit was developed, enabling its operator to survive in hostile environments. The player assumes this role with the objective of infiltrating the station named NAJU and triggering its self-destruct mechanism.
Gameplay involves navigating the station in two distinct forms: a humanoid form and a jet for specific areas. Progress is supported by discovering enhanced armor and weaponry to overcome enemy forces. An alternate, challenging arcade mode exists, which consists solely of autoscrolling shooter segments and removes the exploration elements. In this mode, weapon upgrades are granted based on the player's cumulative score, which resets to zero upon death.
