Legendary Wings Overview
Legendary Wings is a shooter that blends Greek mythology with a futuristic setting. The player controls a hero who must complete six levels to confront an entity called The Devil.
Its core design alternates between two distinct play styles. The main mode is a vertical scrolling shooter where airborne foes are targeted with a primary weapon and ground targets with a secondary missile. Scattered powerups serve a dual function, enhancing offensive capabilities while also granting a temporary shield against damage.
At specific intervals, the perspective shifts to a side scrolling format for special stages. These include a hazardous enemy gauntlet, a reward filled bonus area, and a defensive palace sequence that must be cleared before a boss fight. The palace stage introduces environmental hazards like closing walls, adding a challenging element of evasion.
