Strider 2 is an action game where the protagonist, Strider, is tasked with liberating the planet Magenta. His mission takes him through diverse environments including a forest, a ruined city, and a prison ship where a leader is held captive.
The core gameplay involves running, jumping, and attacking with a dynamic character. He is equipped with a Gyro laser and a matter converter sword, allowing for both stationary gunfire and moving sword strikes. These weapons can be combined in a manner reminiscent of the Switchblade series.
A unique system involves collecting tokens. If a sufficient number are gathered, the player can transform into a robot to confront the boss at the end of each level.
