Die Hard 2: Die Harder Overview
Die Hard 2: Die Harder is a two-dimensional shooting gallery title from the early 1990s. The player assumes the role of police officer John McClane, who must confront terrorists at Washington's Dulles airport. The action is divided into five distinct stages, each comprising three screens and representing key scenes from the 1990 film.
Gameplay involves aiming a crosshair to shoot enemies who appear on screen. The challenge is fair, requiring quick reflexes to eliminate targets before they can deplete the player's health. Failing to react in time can lead to defeat, as the player has a limited number of lives. Among the standard foes, civilians also appear, and shooting them must be avoided. Defeated enemies often leave behind useful items, such as medical kits, protective gear, grenades, and improved firearms, which must be shot to collect.
The stages progress from interior locations like a luggage center and an airport annex to exterior areas including a runway. The final sequences involve a snowmobile pursuit and a confrontation on the wing of an airplane, where particularly durable boss characters are encountered.
