Ristar is a game where the player controls a star character attempting to free a solar system from conquest. The antagonist, Greedy, has subjugated multiple worlds by corrupting their leaders and deploying disguised enforcers.
Gameplay involves using Ristar's extendable arms to grab and attack enemies, as well as to climb environmental surfaces. His nature as a star provides additional mechanics beyond these core actions.
The narrative begins when a forest planet sends a distress call, but the intended ancient hero is removed by Greedy. This leads to Ristar's intervention as the new agent of liberation.
