The Adventures of Batman & Robin is a side-scrolling action title derived from its television counterpart. Players traverse levels primarily from left to right, engaging in hand-to-hand combat against many opponents.
Mr. Freeze serves as the central antagonist, aiming to freeze Gotham City with a powerful ice cannon. He is supported by several other villains, including The Joker, Mad Hatter, and Two-Face. The game world features locations such as a film studio and Gotham University across its four distinct areas, each dedicated to one villain and containing three levels.
While the player can select either Batman or Robin, this choice does not alter the gameplay mechanics.
