Chip ‘N Dale Rescue Rangers: The Adventures in Nimnul’s Castle Overview
Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers: The Adventures in Nimnul's Castle is a DOS game adapted from the Disney animated series. The player primarily directs Chip, while his companion Dale is managed by the computer, as they work to free Monterey Jack from a trap within their adversary Professor Norton Nimnul's castle.
Progress is divided into three distinct groups of levels, each presenting its own environmental threats. Hazards include Nimnul's acid drops, aggressive dogs, and candle fire, with later stages introducing a mechanical apparatus with hands. A consistent task across several levels involves Chip gathering screws and delivering them to Dale, who is simultaneously evading canine pursuers.
The journey through the nine stages is punctuated by animated sequences that depict the story's advancement. These cutscenes show, for instance, the character Zipper transporting the collected screws to Gadget for use in repairing a flying machine.
