Remote Control Overview
Remote Control adapts the format of an MTV quiz show into a video game where up to three participants, either human or computer controlled, test their knowledge of television and film. The core activity involves responding to queries about programs, movies, and the people associated with them.
Primary gameplay revolves around a large television display with nine selectable channels, each tied to a specific category such as cop shows or soap operas. Selecting a channel presents a question, and the first contestant to signal and answer correctly gains points. The available categories change between sessions, and occasional surprise channels may alter scores without a question. This phase continues until a pool of questions is depleted.
A player is removed after the second such round, leaving the two highest scorers. The conclusion is a challenging thirty-second finale where these remaining players must rapidly answer a series of short questions to accumulate final points. The contestant with the highest total after this final round is declared the winner.
