Remote Control Overview
Remote Control was one of those games that felt like a secret shared between friends during the Flash era. You'd find it tucked away on a gaming portal, a simple concept that captured a specific, familiar anxiety. The premise was immediately clear: you were supposed to be studying, but the television was right there.
You control a cursor, and your only action is to click the remote to change the channel. A man, presumably a parent or teacher, sits in a chair with his back to you. The challenge is to watch the brief clips on screen without him turning around to catch you in the act. Each channel shows a different, often absurd, short animation. The game is entirely about timing and risk. Click too much, and the movement might draw his attention. Stare at one channel for too long, and he seems to sense it. There's no score or timer, just the tension of possibly getting caught. It plays out in quiet, jumpy moments, and the feeling is less about winning and more about getting away with something small.
