Mountain Bike Overview
Mountain Bike was one of those physics-based games that felt common during the Flash era. It was a straightforward take on the stunt biking genre, where the goal was simply to get from the start of a 2D side-scrolling track to the finish. You controlled a rider on a bicycle, navigating hills and ramps.
You guide the rider using the arrow keys. Pressing up makes you pedal forward, while down applies the brakes. Leaning is crucial; you tilt the bike left and right with the corresponding keys to maintain balance in the air and land smoothly. Scattered along the tracks are pills you can collect to restore your energy, which depletes as you pedal. The main objective is to complete each track before your energy runs out, unlocking more challenging courses. The game moves at a steady pace, but a mistimed jump or a bad landing can easily wreck your run. It feels like a constant, careful negotiation between speed and control.
