The Chessmaster Overview
Alt. Names:
Sega Chess, チェスマスター
The Chessmaster presents a digital chess experience where players compete against a computer opponent. Moves are executed by manipulating a hand cursor to pick up and place pieces according to standard rules.
Opponent difficulty is highly adjustable, with settings that can make the game easy for beginners or challenging for experts. The computer's calculation time per move varies significantly across these levels. A special teaching function highlights legal moves for a selected piece, and a two-player human versus human mode is supported. Additionally, the software can be set to operate in a mode where the computer plays against itself.
