Art of Fighting is a fighting game set in South Town, where the plot centers on the rescue of Yuri Sakazaki by her brother Ryo and his friend Robert. Their investigation reveals connections to organized crime and unresolved history.
The combat system introduces a Spirit meter, which depletes when using special techniques. Replenishing this meter is a challenging tactical decision, as it leaves the character vulnerable. A hidden, powerful move becomes accessible when health is critically low, but requires the Spirit gauge to be full.
Certain characters from the arcade release, specifically Mr. Big and Mr. Karate, are not selectable for players.
