Legends of the Diamond Overview
Legends of the Diamond is a baseball video game for the NES. Its roster consists of thirty historical players, with a notable emphasis on position players as only six are pitchers.
Gameplay involves manual control of fielders, and pitching is presented from a perspective directly behind the batter. Pitchers have access to three distinct velocity levels for their throws. Two stadium types are selectable, an older design and a modern one, which differ in appearance and the relative likelihood of hitting a home run.
Players can engage in a single exhibition match or enter a tournament. In the tournament mode, participants assemble a team from the available players and face a series of randomly generated computer-controlled teams, advancing after each victory.
