WWF King of the Ring is a licensed wrestling title for the NES. Its roster includes eleven characters, such as Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, and The Undertaker, though two are missing from the portable GameBoy edition. A feature allows for the creation of a custom wrestler with personally assigned stats.
Gameplay involves one-on-one bouts, tag team matches, championship contests, and a special tournament mode. All fighters utilize an identical arsenal of maneuvers, including strikes, grapples, and aerial attacks from the turnbuckle. No individual possesses unique signature techniques.
Each competitor is defined by three personal attributes: strength, speed, and stamina. These statistics differentiate the characters within the shared move set.
