Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf is a mission based action game viewed from an isometric perspective. The player pilots an AH-64A Apache helicopter to neutralize a rogue military threat in a Middle Eastern emirate, preventing a potential global conflict.
Gameplay involves navigating hostile territory to complete objectives such as demolishing key installations and recovering personnel. The Apache's arsenal includes a machine gun and two missile varieties, which are used against ground defenses like anti aircraft emplacements and armored vehicles. Managing the helicopter's systems is challenging, as it can be destroyed by enemy fire or by exhausting its fuel supply.
