Cruise for a Corpse Overview
Cruise for a Corpse is a graphic adventure where players investigate a murder during a sea voyage. Inspector Raoul Dusentier must determine which passenger killed the wealthy host, Niklos Karaboudjan, as every individual aboard possesses a potential motive.
Progress is driven primarily through dialogue, requiring conversations with specific characters about relevant topics to gather clues. The passage of time is marked in ten-minute increments following significant discoveries, which alters which characters are available in different ship locations. Evidence can be found in the environment, though many items materialize in previously empty containers.
The interface uses a context-sensitive command system. Moving the cursor over interactive objects changes its icon, and a left-click presents applicable actions such as opening or examining. A right-click opens the inventory. This point-and-click system represents an updated version of Delphine Software's Cinematique interface, featuring polygonal character models.
