Sinaria: Lost in Space Overview
Sinaria: Lost in Space is a DOS game that operates within the metroidvania genre, requiring players to gather specific tools to progressively unlock new areas. These items include a transformation into a bomb-dropping ball for tight spaces, enhanced jumping boots, a grappling swivel, and a device to reveal hidden paths.
The player controls an unnamed adventurer tasked with liberating the world of Sinaria from the antagonist Stomper and his forces. This involves navigating platforms, combating enemies, and eventually confronting Stomper himself after defeating drones modeled after him. The game served as a precursor to its developers' later project, Vigilance on Talos V, and drew clear inspiration from Super Metroid.
Technical aspects of the release feature 256-color graphics, digital sound effects, and MOD music. It was initially intended as the first part of a two-part shareware series, but the planned sequel, Return of Stomper, was never completed.
