Top Gear Overview
Top Gear is a racing game for one or two players, featuring a split-screen display. The competition spans 32 international circuits, with locations including Brazil, the USA, France, and Japan.
Before racing, players select from four cars, each with distinct performance characteristics affecting speed, fuel efficiency, boost capability, and tire traction. The competition is challenging, as computer-controlled opponents are programmed to be slightly faster. To advance to the next circuit, a driver must finish a race in fifth place or better.
Longer tracks include a Pit Stop area where the vehicle's fuel can be topped up. Various obstacles, such as iron plates and piles of stones, are placed throughout the courses. Progress can be saved and resumed later using a password system.
