Mach Rider Overview
Mach Rider is a motorcycle game set in a post-apocalyptic future where the player must traverse ten sectors to reach a city under threat. The primary challenge comes from hostile drivers attempting to force the player off the road, as well as environmental obstacles and sharp turns. The player character can be destroyed but will reform to continue, providing a fair approach to progression.
Gameplay is divided into distinct modes. One mode involves combat on a course with two path choices, where players shoot or force enemies off the road for points. This mode begins with unlimited attempts but later restricts progress to three lives, making it challenging. Other modes task the player with covering a set distance before time expires, with one featuring enemies and another being a solitary time trial.
A custom track editor is included, allowing players to design courses for the time-based mode. These creations are not permanently saved and are lost when the console is powered off.
