Top Gear 2 Overview
Top Gear 2 is a third-person racing title sharing visual and stylistic similarities with the Lotus series. The competition spans 16 global locations, with each hosting a four-race mini-championship. Real-world track layouts are featured, though they are placed in geographically inconsistent settings.
Progress requires finishing within the top 10 positions against 19 rivals. The top six finishers earn championship points and corresponding monetary rewards. This currency funds vehicle upgrades, including engines, tires for different conditions, shock absorbers, and gearboxes. An efficient strategy involves purchasing the best components early, as incremental upgrades offer no cost savings.
Each race provides a limited nitro boost, with additional power-ups like extra nitro, money, and speed tokens available on track. The circuits also contain various environmental hazards. Winning a full four-race championship grants a password to continue, making the progression challenging.
