Lotus: The Ultimate Challenge Overview
Lotus: The Ultimate Challenge is a racing game officially licensed from the British car manufacturer. Its gameplay is structured around two primary modes: direct competition against nineteen computer opponents and a time trial format where the clock is the adversary.
The computer-controlled racers are given distinctive, often humorous names. Players encounter a variety of thirteen race types, which include environments like motorways and night driving, as well as events complicated by roadworks. These events differ in structure, with some involving laps and others being point-to-point races.
A significant feature is the RECS editor, a tool for designing custom courses, enabling a vast number of potential track configurations. The game also supports two players simultaneously through a split-screen display.
