USAAF Mustang Overview
USAAF Mustang is a World War II themed side scrolling shooter. The player pilots a P-51D Mustang aircraft through a series of missions.
Gameplay involves navigating through environments filled with numerous enemy units. The aircraft's primary armament consists of forward firing guns with unlimited ammunition, while bombs can be deployed simultaneously to attack ground based targets. Collecting power ups modifies the plane's weapons, introducing new firing patterns and increased firepower.
The game presents a challenging difficulty, as a single enemy hit will destroy the player's plane. Each mission concludes with a confrontation against a large boss aircraft. A limited supply of forger weapons is available, which create large area of effect explosions capable of damaging multiple enemies at once.
