Task Force Harrier EX Overview
Task Force Harrier EX is a vertically scrolling shooter for the Sega Genesis, originating from a 1989 arcade release. The player pilots the Harrier V fighter, engaging threats that emerge from both the sky and the terrain, requiring a mix of air and ground based weaponry.
The narrative involves a UN operative named Falcon, tasked with stopping a resurgent communist faction. This group has created a powerful experimental weapon, the TU-190, which is en route to attack the United States and must be destroyed.
Gameplay progression spans twelve stages with three selectable difficulty levels, making the experience challenging. The aircraft's capabilities can be enhanced by collecting items, which provide upgrades to primary weapons, deploy smart bombs, or grant a pair of satellites that offer invulnerability and can be repositioned.
