Mega Turrican Overview
Mega Turrican is a side scrolling action game where the player assumes the role of a soldier from the USS Freedom Forces. The objective is to combat a resurgent enemy known as the Dark Forces across expansive levels.
Gameplay involves navigating these large environments, which are designed for exploration to locate hidden secrets and confront numerous adversaries. The player character has access to a versatile arsenal, including three distinct weapon types that can be upgraded: a multiple shot, a laser, and a rebound weapon.
Movement and defense are augmented by special abilities. A grappling rope aids in traversal, while a wheel mode grants temporary invincibility and allows for laying mines. This mode, which consumes a special energy resource, can also be used to access otherwise unreachable areas.
