RoboWarrior Overview
Robo Warrior is set in a future where Earth has created the artificial planet Altile. This construction project brought global peace, making the RoboWarriors military units obsolete. The game's conflict begins when the Xantho Empire, led by Xur, invades from another dimension and seizes Altile.
Players control the ZED unit, Earth's most advanced RoboWarrior, sent to respond to the distress call. The perspective is overhead, with movement in four directions. Gameplay involves clearing paths by bombing obstacles and fighting enemies with a projectile weapon. Defeated foes and destroyed barriers can yield power-ups, which provide various effects like instant refills or items stored for later use from a menu.
The environment is structured into eight distinct worlds, each with multiple stages. Progression requires finding keys to open doors and chalices to prevent levels from looping. Hidden areas, such as the Well of Hope and Room of Idols, can also be discovered. Each world concludes with a confrontation against a boss monster.
