Raid on Bungeling Bay is a mission based game where the player pilots a helicopter against various enemy forces. These adversaries include anti aircraft guns, tanks, ships, and planes, with a large battleship appearing later.
The player's sole friendly unit is a carrier, which serves as a starting point and a base for resupply and repairs. Protecting this carrier from destruction is a continuous requirement for maintaining these support functions. Success in a level is achieved by bombing a specific factory target, a task which becomes progressively more challenging as the required number of bombs increases.
