Jaws Overview
Jaws for the NES is a game where players operate a vessel to hunt a great white shark. The diver can exit the ship to eliminate smaller sea creatures, collecting conch shells used for vessel improvements. These shells can also be obtained during aerial bonus stages.
Gameplay involves a cycle of exploration and combat. The primary objective is to repeatedly engage the shark with the diver to deplete its health. Players may occasionally discover a submarine to enhance their capabilities during these encounters.
The final phase begins once the shark is weakened. The player returns to the boat to deploy lures, drawing the shark to the surface. Victory is achieved by successfully ramming the shark with the boat. The game's structure, requiring resource gathering and multiple combat phases, suggests a fair level of challenge.
