Samurai Shodown Overview
Samurai Shodown is set in early feudal Japan, where the world is threatened by a servant of evil named Ambrosia. This entity has possessed the body of a man named Shiro Tokisada Amakusa, who outwardly appears as a preacher of a heretical religion, with the goal of casting the world into eternal darkness.
Players engage with the game by choosing one of twelve primary warriors, each with a unique personal mission to fulfill. The roster is expanded by three additional bonus characters. The objective is to confront and defeat the possessed Amakusa.
A separate note indicates that a version of the game released for the Genesis console does not include the character Earthquake, omitted due to the system's memory and technical constraints.
