Super Contra is a DOS game that continues the story from its predecessor, Contra. Players control the characters Scorpion and Mad Dog, who must stop the alien force Red Falcon from conquering Earth.
The game features a mix of side-scrolling platform segments and top-down perspectives across five levels. Environments begin in familiar terrestrial settings before shifting toward more alien landscapes, with a diverse array of enemies encountered throughout. Weapon upgrades are available to assist players during the campaign.
Both single-player and two-player simultaneous modes are supported, allowing for cooperative play. The experience is generally considered challenging as players advance through the stages to confront the alien threat.
