Super Bomberman 5 represents the concluding installment in the series for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Its core gameplay remains consistent with the mechanics established in the two preceding titles, Super Bomberman 3 and 4.
A new narrative context and different battle stages are introduced, though these are the primary changes from earlier versions. For multiplayer battles, players can select characters who previously served as level bosses in the story mode, a feature returning from the fourth game. However, these boss characters do not possess unique abilities in this iteration.
