Pocky & Rocky 2 is a cooperative top-down shooter for the SNES. The player controls either the Shinto priestess Pocky or her raccoon companion Rocky on a mission to rescue the kidnapped Princess Luna from a demon gang.
Core gameplay involves progressing through stages and defeating waves of enemies using projectile attacks like magic cards. The sequel introduces optional AI partners, which enable special team moves necessary for overcoming certain bosses. These partners also provide unique functions, such as accessing locked areas or hidden underworld sections within stages.
