Acrobat Mission Overview
Acrobat Mission is a scrolling shooter set in a future where Mars colonies are attacked by a sudden mechanical moon. The player controls a spaceship tasked with destroying this threat across five distinct stages, beginning on Mars and culminating inside the moon's core.
The ship's primary weapon fires forward, but can be modified with collected upgrades. One type alters the shot pattern to angled spreads or a close-range energy cone when charged, while another creates defensive orbiting bullets that can be launched forward in a cluster. The player can also carry bombs which detonate if struck by enemy fire, providing a defensive buffer. Direct collision with enemy craft is not instantly fatal, though it can force the ship into hazardous fire.
Mission structure involves navigating through levels that each conclude with a boss encounter, with one stage featuring three such confrontations. If the player's ship is damaged, a brief window allows for a retaliatory ramming attack before it is destroyed. This creates a challenging dynamic where positioning and upgrade management are key to survival.
