Neugier: Umi to Kaze no Kōdō is an action game where the protagonist, Duke, engages in combat using melee weapons. His movement includes jumping, and he can discover protective armor within the game's environments.
The narrative follows Duke, who was exiled by his father, Count Wein. Learning his homeland is under assault, he attempts to return, only for his journey to be interrupted by a pirate attack led by a demonic figure named Ord. After reaching his father's castle, Duke connects this attack to the monsters now infesting it.
Gameplay involves a specific tool called a throw chain. This ability is used to press objects or enemies against walls, which results in their destruction. Despite his father's distrust, Duke's objective is to confront these threats and save Neugier.
