Zan: Yasha Enbukyoku Overview

Alt. Names: 斬 夜叉円舞曲

Zan: Yasha Enbukyoku unfolds in a feudal Japanese setting where noble yasha warriors are in conflict with demonic forces. The player selects one of three factions to command, which also includes the option to lead the neutral human generals positioned between the two primary powers.

Strategic management extends beyond the battlefield, involving army deployment and diplomatic negotiations with other rulers. These political efforts are not guaranteed to succeed, making military engagements a frequent and challenging necessity. The campaign is further complicated by random events like earthquakes and plagues.

Combat is resolved through a turn based menu system where commands such as attack, magic, special techniques, and formations are selected. There is no tactical movement during these encounters; outcomes are determined by the chosen commands and the inherent strength of the units involved.
